Principal Engineer

Nick Johnson P.E, Ph.D. has over 20 years of experience working in the field of electricity and electronics. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida and is a licensed professional engineer registered in Florida.

Nick’s experience began as an electrician and electronics technician, later transitioning to building engineering and construction, and has been focused on radar and electronic warfare for the past 10 years. His most recent experience has been designing, building, and testing RF systems for both the US Air Force and US Navy. His project roles have included research and development, systems engineering, test and evaluation, and technical program management. His experience includes active/passive radar signal processing, antennas, microwave circuits, software, and firmware development.

Nick’s research has earned him 12 publications and 14 US patents. His research and expertise in RF signal processing and machine learning also resulted in him being awarded the 2017 Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition Engineer of the Year.
